Raymond J. Adamek is Emeritus Professor of Sociology at Kent State University, where he has taught courses in the family, statistics, research methods, and other subjects for the past 36 years. Dr. Adamek earned his bachelor’s degree at Canisius College (Buffalo, NY), his master’s degree at Fordham University, and his Ph.D. at Purdue University. Dr. Adamek has some 20 publications dealing with the abortion issue in academic journals, the National Right to Life News, and other outlets. His interest in public opinion on the abortion issie goes back to 1977. In December of 1981, he testified before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution concerning public opinion on abortion. Dr. Adamek recently completed an analysis of over 30 years of abortion polls in the U.S., which is available from the Ad Hoc Committee in Defense of Life in New York City. Dr. Adamek and his wife Judy have been active in the pro-life movement since 1972.
